No – It’s not a mob of people who show you what’s behind their trench coat!
You might have heard of them before, they have been around since 2003 – The ‘official’ (Wikipedia) definition of a flash mob is:
“a large group of people who assemble suddenly in a public place, perform an unusual action for a brief time, then quickly disperse. The term flash mob is generally applied only to gatherings organized via telecommunications, social media, or viral emails.”

My take on Improv Everywhere is that they’re mostly harmless, but they may have been misused in psychological warfare or harassment campaigns - and most of the participants wouldn’t even know.

That’s an interesting take on Improv Everywhere… I think their skits are quite amusing - I haven’t seen one yet that I would consider to inflict any kind of harassment… The idea of flash mobs being used as a means to inflict psychological warfare is an equally thought provoking concept.
