Steve’s career spans nearly 30 years in journalism, politics and public relations. Through the 1980s, he was a television and radio reporter and newsreader. In the 1990s, he worked for Premiers, Prime Ministers and private clients in State, Federal and British politics. Since the late 1990s he has held senior roles in leading global PR firms including Burson-Marsteller and Hill & Knowlton. He is also Australia’s most experienced media trainer having continually coached media spokespeople since 1988.
Today Steve advises government and commercial organisations in reputation management; the role of the CEO as custodian of the organisation’s good name, preparing for and responding to crisis situations or issues and developing the communication skills of key people in media interviews, presentations, speeches and so on.
Since founding Reputation Australia in 2003, Steve has developed particular strengths in the Government, scientific, education and pharmaceutical sectors.
